My major was Household Arts which included the history of costume and furniture design. I moved into the house during the second semester. We shared rooms (2 or 3 girls to a room) each with her own closet, chest and desk. We all slept on the 3rd floor sleeping porch which had an open-air patio in the center. Canvas panels could be dropped down during rain storms. On most Sunday nights we had suppers that were open to young men on campus and in fraternities. These free meals were quite popular with the young men(and we enjoyed them too!) These were hard times financially. The dorms and Greek houses normally did not serve meals Sunday evenings.
